Our Mission

The Arizona Independent Schools Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1998 to provide tuition aid to students with verified financial need attending an independent, non-profit school in the state of Arizona. The member schools must be members of the National Association of Independent Schools, be non-profit in status and must ascertain true financial need for the proposed recipients.

What is the AISSF?

The AISSF is a school tuition organization (STO). Under Arizona law, a STO is an organization that is tax-exempt and allocates at least 90% of its annual revenue to scholarships for students attending private schools. The Foundation was founded in 1998 and awards financial aid to students attending St. Gregory College Preparatory School, Phoenix Country Day School or Green Fields County Day School.

How does the AISSF allocate its scholarships?

The Foundation’s Board of Trustees meets in May to distribute the funds received in the prior fiscal year. Each member school presents applications on behalf of students who have qualified for admission and meet the financial needs test.
